File My Claim is a free, voluntary, non-commercial web application built by a U.S. military retiree living in Italy. It is an initiative of Fortify Community — a non-commercial platform supporting military families, expats, and their communities. File My Claim is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to TRICARE, the Defense Health Agency (DHA), or the U.S. Department of Defense.
To generate your TRICARE claim documents, the app asks you to enter the following information. This mirrors what is required on DD Form 2642 and supporting claim documents:

We understand that the Social Security Number and DoD Benefits Number are among the most sensitive pieces of personal information you hold. We want to be unambiguous about how they are handled:
The only place your SSN appears is in the PDF you generate and download to your own device — the same document you would have filled out by hand on a paper form. You are in complete control of that document from the moment it is created.
File My Claim is a client-side web application. All processing — form filling, PDF generation, document bundling — happens entirely within your browser using JavaScript. No data is sent to any server at any point during this process.
Profile information you save (name, address, insurance details) is stored in your browser's localStorage — a feature of your own device, not a remote database. This data never leaves your device. If you clear your browser data or use a different device, the profile data is not recoverable because it was never stored anywhere else.
The DD 2642 template PDF is fetched from the File My Claim server once when you generate your form. This is a blank template only — no personal information is involved in this fetch. Once downloaded to your browser, all form filling happens locally.
File My Claim does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking or advertising technology. There are no cookies placed on your device for tracking purposes.
To understand whether the tool is working as intended, we count two anonymous events: when a DD Form 2642 is generated, and when a Claim Package is generated. These counts are recorded directly on our own server hosted by Hostinger. No personal data, no IP addresses, no device identifiers, and no form content are involved — only a number that increments by one. No third party receives this data.
The app loads the following external resources:
pdf-lib (unpkg.com) — a JavaScript library used to fill and generate PDF documents. This library runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to unpkg.com.
Google Fonts — used for typography display. Google may log the font request as a standard web server request. No personal information from the app is transmitted.
No other third-party services, APIs, or external connections are used.
Because File My Claim does not collect or store your personal data, there is nothing for us to delete, correct, or provide upon request — we simply do not have it. You retain complete ownership and control of everything you enter. To remove your saved profile data, clear your browser's localStorage for filemyclaim.app in your browser settings.
Residents of the European Union should note that because no personal data is collected or processed by File My Claim, the application's data handling is outside the scope of GDPR data processing obligations. Your data remains entirely under your own control at all times.
